It was to what was then believed to be a production mistake in the chocolate factory Delespaul-Havez located in Marcq-en-Baroeul (Northern France) in 1954 that Carambar came to life.

Rumor has it that a mixture of caramel and cocoa was dropped in a defective machine by accident. The origin of the name Caram’bar comes from the way this machine produced caramel bars by cutting them to the desired length.

Today, this candy is offered in multiple flavours along with a touch of humour for children found in a text printed inside each wrapper.
